“We loved our stay. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and the views were spectacular. The location was great for accessing hiking trails in the area in North and South Carolina. We made use of the hot tub and the sauna daily and loved watching the sunrises from the upper and lower deck.”

“High Top Refuge on Saluda Mountain was peaceful and serene and the mountain views were incredible. The space was very clean and modern, but cozy. Beautiful custom wood work throughout. Sage was a wonderful host, pro-active, attentive and responsive; instructions were clear and many local recommendations were provided. The last mile getting there is a steep, gravel road, but it's worth it. We enjoyed our time there.”

“Customer service was truly exceptional. Due to inclement weather our vehicle got stuck but in less than 5 minutes Oliver and Blake came to our rescue and took us to our cabin. We received ongoing communication checking to confirm we had made it to our cabin safely and soundly. The next day Oliver followed up with me giving me options on what was more comfortable for me regarding driving my car up the slope, showcasing their dedication to our well-being. Saturday evening Mr. Fred stopped by to advise me that Milky would give us a ride down the slope to our car at check out, going above and beyond. They also extended our check out time to an additional hour at no charge, a testament to their kindness. What an amazing family they were, kind, helpful and very caring, making us feel like part of their family. Trust me, you have to visit this place. It felt like being with family, a truly heartwarming experience. I would highly recommend this place for a private, fun and relaxing experience.”

The view is outstanding, and the location is easy to access. As a small suggestion for improvement, the checkout time could be a bit later so guests can enjoy the place a little more. I believe 12:00 PM would be ideal, while still allowing enough time for cleaning. Communication with the host was also excellent.”

“The cabin was clean, nicely furnished and had a great view of the morning sunrise over the mountains. The fire pit on lower deck was also really nice. We had major issues with the HVAC, which made it impossible to sleep, but did receive a small refund as compensation. We still would recommend staying at the cabins and hope to stay again in the future. Things to know before you go - Arrive during daylight if you can - the cabin is located up a one lane gravel road with a steep incline and no lighting. Download the door code from app before getting to cabin - cell service is bad - SOS mode bad at times, but WIFI inside cabin was good to go. Confirm exact cabin #/location prior to arrival - there are 4 cabins and no signage on outside. Keep the doors closed - the bugs are for real! Bring what you need with you - most everything is 30+ min drive away.”

“We truly appreciated the beauty of the property and the peaceful mountain setting. The home itself was thoughtfully designed and offered a cozy, scenic retreat. When a septic issue arose at the original unit on our last day, the host responded quickly and relocated us to another available home on the property, which we appreciated. The cleanliness of both homes did not reflect the professional standard we expected, especially considering the $100 cleaning fee. Trash was left in the bathroom, the shower hadn’t been properly cleaned, and there were visible signs of dust and missed details. While we didn’t make a big deal of it at the time, it’s worth noting for future guests, otherwise it was amazing. Overall, we’re grateful for the host’s responsiveness and the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful location. With improvements to the cleaning standards to reflect the fee paid by the guest, this could easily be a 5-star experience.”

“Beautifully decorated, good open floor plan with great fall foliage views. Even though it was 2 floors, it’s cozy enough for a couple or a family. Many restaurants close by and I highly recommend the delicious Mexican restaurant in Saluda. There was an issue with bugs getting into the house. While we kept the doors closed, they somehow found their way in. While it didn’t ruin our stay, it was annoying at times. Overall, I recommend this place for the decoration, great views, good restaurants close by and good proximity to Asheville.”
